The advantages of being sick is that you (*hopefully*) don't have to go to work. Sure the being stuck at home and not being able to go out is a downside, but nevertheless, its a basiclly a day to rest. What better way to relax than to eat right?
Since my dad was in town, and he has been to this place before, he took the family there to have some, as he put it, "something really good".
I am sad to say that despite my love for food and trying new food, I have never actually tried proper fish head dishes, except for the one at SS2, when the work people and I went for lunch. I have always wanted to try it, but invariably saving myself for the fish head curry at Chan Sow Lin.
Goon Wah is a pretty famous place judging by the number of reviews the place has on the internet. Their speciality is their Fish Head Noodle's with XO.
Actual conversation while leaving the restaurant:-
Me: You know, the food was good, but I have a feeling that there was some alcohol in the fish head soup.
Mom:No la...
Me: (*Looks back at the sign board and sees large "XO" across the board*) Rite....
When we arrived there, the place was pretty packed, but luckily a table cleared quickly, and we managed to get place real fast. Since my dad knows what to order, we let him order.

Service here was pretty fast. We sat, and everything was served quite fast. The food itself came really fast, which was about 10 minutes after we ordered, and the place was really packed.

The first thing on the list is the fish head noodles. A big bowl, with the fish head chopped up, with really thick noodles. The soup itself was a bit tangy, with tomatoes and preserved vegetables giving it a lot of stuff to sift through to get to the fish and noodles. Taste-wise, it was good. A little milk was added to it. However, the amount of things floating around in the soup kinda makes it a chore to get to the fish and noodles. The soup however, was awesome, and I ended up just drinking the soup.

The loh shi fun, however, was pure awesomeness. The best loh shi fun that I have tasted, till this day, is the one at Murni. The loh shi fun at Lucky in Sri Petaling comes a close second. This blows both of them out of the water. While the usual preparation is the noodles cooked in the claypot with minced pork and an egg, the preparation here had less pork and more fried prawns, that gave it a nice crunchy feel. Combined with the chilli paste that they provided, it was pure joy to eat.
Total damage: RM27 for large servings of each dish and 4 iced chinese tea. The fish head noodles was not great, but the loh shi fun made up for it. The weird thing about this place is that it only opens on weekdays from 10 to 3.30. Will definately head here again if I get the chance.
Now all I gotta do is fall sick again...
